Visit a Wine Cellar and Enjoy a Local Wine and Olive Oil Tasting
We depart on our forest hike from the medieval town of Fiesole, just outside of Florence.
Walking along stonemasons’ paths and country roads among Chianti Colli Fiorentini’s olive groves and vineyards, we have the chance to see works carved on pietra serena made during a contest of contemporary artists. Our walk takes us to some beautiful areas with breathtaking views of the natural landscape.
- The Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci
We continue on a steep, yet short path, which leads us to Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci.
In a stele, the phrase with which Leonardo persuaded one of his workers to throw himself into the void of the underlying quarry attached to the flying machine of his invention is reported.
- The Park of Prato ai Pini and a Typical Florentine Osteria
Continue along the wall, then the small road begins to descend until the entrance to the park of Prato ai Pini.
Along the route, your guide will describe the traditional production processes for olive oil and wine making, and will help you appreciate the environments that are typical of the Florentine countryside, like olive groves, vineyards, villas, and towns.
We’ll have lunch in a typical Florentine osteria where we will be served a delicious meal, including olive oil and Chianti wine tastings.
