Morning bike ride – start with our Chianti Classico bike ride!
Our friendly staff will meet you at our central meeting point in the quiet Oltrarno area of Florence.
After meeting with your guide, we will also give you helmets. You will then have a brief training session for safety and introduction to the itinerary for the day. We will then fit you with the right E-bike and helmet!
You will start biking in Florence but very soon we will be on fascinating and not busy roads with amazing countryside views. The first part of the bike ride lasts about 1.5 hours, and you will see typical Tuscany villages and Chianti wine fields while enjoying panoramic stops to take some photos and learn about local life and nature from our knowledgeable guide.
We will then have a break also in San Casciano, one of the main villages of the Chianti region, to get a peek at the ancient city walls. The farm we will visit on the first day is a family-run Chianti Classico wine and olive oil producer, so you’ll be able to taste the products farm to table!
We will also have a look at the “Orciaia“, a room filled with big terracotta pots where wine and oil used to be stored since Roman times, and the “Frantoio“, the facility where the olives are pressed to produce the world-renowned Tuscan Extra Virgin Oil.
After lunch, we will keep cycling to reach the countryside homestay where Machiavelli used to live!
There will be time to settle in the quiet life and beautiful views, or have a swim in the pool!
To end the day, you will be able to enjoy a fancy dinner at an exclusive restaurant nearby the hotel.A full Tuscan dinner is included as well!
-
Day 2 – On the second day, there will be all the time to enjoy a nice breakfast with a view at the Hotel.
After, we will jump back on the bikes (fully charged during the night, of course!) to get some morning bike riding.
We will dive deeper into the Chianti region and reach Mercatale and Impruneta towns.
Impruneta is famous worldwide for its Terracotta production, so you will be surprised to see all the pots and sculptures around town. Also, time for a coffee break!
Now we will start to slowly descend back to the Florence area, with great peaks over the Renaissance city from afar.
We will reach then Arcetri town, where Galileo used to live, to hear about some more history as well!
We will have lunch in a beautiful Villa, and also here we will be able to taste their wines and olive oil, after a tour of the 1.000-year-old wine cellar.
After lunch and a bit more nature biking, you’ll be finally presented with the glorious hilltop view of Florence from San Miniato al Monte (home to the oldest church of Florence) and Piazzale Michelangelo
Finally, we will slowly head back to our office, and close this amazing adventure. -
