A day riding to see the best of Florence and Tuscany
Would you love to have a bike tour that will take you from the hidden walls and tiniest roads of Florence to the gorgeous countryside of Tuscany, while tasting traditional food and locally produced wines and olive oil?
Then look no further, our Classic Tuscany tour is the ultimate experience for you: in just 6 hours you will have the best introduction to what Tuscany has to offer.
Deepen your knowledge regarding hand-harvested olive oil and the famous Super Tuscan wines, while of course tasting them exactly where they are produced: an exclusive family-run farm established in an ancient Renaissance Villa, with a wine cellar that dates back to the year 1.000!
This will be a great day to spend away from the crowds and noise of the city, learn about local life and farming, and have some great fun with our trusted guides!
As in the usual We Like Tuscany fashion, we only take you with the best guides to experience small productions, so expect to meet Rodolfo, our friend, and owner of the Villa.
This experience will take around 6-hours, so you will have still the afternoon to arrange for other activities!
Our friendly staff will greet you at our office in central Florence, in the quieter and more traditional Oltrarno area of the city.
Your guide will help you pick your bike and helmet. You will then have a brief training session for safety and an introduction to the itinerary for the day.
You will start biking on flat terrain, to get comfortable with our high-quality 24-speed hybrid bikes (or electric bike), passing by some of the main attractions of Florence like Pitti Palace.
The first part of the bike ride lasts about 1 hour, and it includes some uphill sections along the ancient city walls of Florence, so get ready for a bit of calorie burning! There will be plenty of panoramic stops to take some photos and learn about local life and nature from our knowledgeable guide.
Also, you will enjoy great views over the city of Florence, especially when our guide will take you to the amazing viewpoint of San Miniato al Monte (close to Piazzale Michelangelo, but less crowded!)
We will then head towards the Tuscan countryside, visiting villages immersed in the famous rolling hills.
After another bit of biking, we will reach the wine estate for a tour of the property and a light Tuscan lunch with tastings!
The Renaissance Villa you will visit has been owned by an ancient family of Florence for centuries, and it’s still run by them. We will visit the beautiful fields to learn about natural olive oil and winemaking, as this farm still honors the ancient method of handpicking olives.
The ancient cellar dates back to the year 1.000, and it sits below the beautiful Villa and the Italian-style gardens that we will visit.
We will then be more than ready for a typical Tuscan lunch paired with a tasting of the olive oil and 2 of the wines produced on the premises!
Lunch includes an appetizer, first course, dessert, and coffee.
After lunch, we jump back on our bikes and start riding again to burn some more calories!
Your guide will choose the best itinerary for the way back so that you can enjoy some more rolling hills and great panoramas, on the glorious way back to Florence.
