Montalcino and Brunello Wine Tour from Florence
On this semi-private Tuscany wine tour, we discover the exceptional Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most renowned wines in the world. We get to Brunello’s land by traveling along one of Tuscany’s most beautiful panoramic routes, crossing the Chianti region and the area of Siena.
Expect a very intimate and non-touristy experience, as we venture into the region’s culture to learn about winemaking straight from the farmers.
Departing from Florence with your professional and knowledgeable guide by car or van, you will reach out the famous Montalcino, a medieval town surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, famous for the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wine located in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, in the southern part of Tuscany.
The first farm stop includes a tasting and a guided visit to a boutique winery, during which you will learn about the winemaking in the region and the specific processes involved to make Brunello wine. Also, enjoy a visit to the ancient underground cellars where all the wooden casks are kept for aging the wines.
Then you will be escorted to town for a free visit to Montalcino and its beautiful cobblestone streets and great panoramas over rolling hills.
The second part of the tour is going to take part in a winery that is run by the same family since 1865. Here we will enjoy a visit to the cellars guided by the owner and a Tuscan multi-course lunch with a wine tasting, usually prepared with love by the family’s “nonna” (grandmother).
We can’t wait to have you with us to make you experience the real Tuscany lifestyle!

Having reached the family-run winery in the heart of Montalcino, we enjoy the first guided tour to discover the long history and tradition of this small Brunello winemaker. We taste four different kinds of wine and we visit the cellars, learning something about the origin and production process of this amazing wine. A visit to this estate is an extraordinary journey into the world of Brunello. You will become familiar with the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wine through the tasting experience!

After the first visit to a Brunello winery, we take a walk in the charming and lovely streets of Montalcino. In the historical center, we can still see the fortress and the original defensive walls. In fact, this old village is one of the best-preserved examples of medieval architecture in the Val d’Orcia area. Strolling around the fascinating stone streets, we take a peek at the crafts shops, wine bars, cafes and much more.

We continue our tour to reach the second family-run winery. Here, the view opens onto the stunning valley of the vineyard hills. We sample some developing wine straight from the cask and taste Brunello DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC together with an abundant traditional multi-course Tuscan lunch. This includes a starter with the main course, a dessert, and a cafè with a wine tasting of two/three different kinds of Brunello. It’s our aim to provide you with an authentic experience in the area of Montalcino.
