Discover Florence’s quiet and breath-taking hills, explore a private Renaissance villa, and duck into an ancient wine cellar for a wine and olive oil tasting with a light snack of Tuscan goodness.
This is one of the time-tested itineraries that we run since 1993: we have many friends (a.k.a. guests) coming back every couple of years to do it over and over 😉
Enjoy a full day 28 miles bike ride up&down the Tuscany Hills and Fiesole
If you are a bike enthusiast and weekend rider that is not afraid of riding up hills, and you are looking for an authentic experience, this is the Tuscany bike tour for you!
Spend a full day outside Florence riding through the ancient town of Fiesole and the Tuscan hills, accompanied by a friendly and experienced guide.
A family run Chianti winery visit is included. Here you will visit the ancient cellars and the “Orciaia”, learn about wine and Extra Virgin Olive Oil making.
A Tuscan multi-course lunch is the highlight of the day at our favorite traditional family-run trattoria.
As we promise since 1993: no churches, no museums, no annoying crowds.
- A Green Tour in Tuscany
With the departure right from our office in Florence, this is what we like to call our “green” tour, meaning no shuttle vans and no support vehicles, no carbon footprint – just you, your bike and your bilingual guide.
Your guide is there to show you the way, point out the sights, explain to you about wine and olive oil making, and fix any flats or malfunctions.
The tour includes a scenic ride up to the picturesque town of Fiesole, located to the northeast of Florence. Once you arrive in Fiesole, you get to see one of the best views of Florence.
- A Wine and Oil Tasting in a Chianti Vineyard
The ride then continues further into the hills where you will eat at one of our favorite restaurants in the area (La casa del prosciutto) – which is claimed by many of our guests to be one of the best meals of their trip!
On the return trip back to Florence, we stop at a local family-run Chianti winery to see where their wine is made and stored, and take a look at their personal stash of olive oil.
Purchase and shipping of both wine and oil are available at the farm. The return ride to Florence is mostly downhill, getting us back to the shop no later than 5 pm.
- Upgrade to an e-bike for an extra €35 per person!
- Meeting Point
The meeting point is at: Via del Campuccio, 88, Florence, Metropolitan City of Florence, Italy.
