Discover with We like Tuscany and our great guides the magic of the Vernaccia area of Tuscany on a semi-private wine tour from Florence through this scenic wine region, where gently rolling hills and endless vineyards set the stage for a memorable day!

The area of San Gimignano is famous in Italy for the production of DOCG white wine, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano. This white wine grows only in this area because of the original characteristics of the soil which is sandy and wet, not like that of the close Chianti areas, which is more rocky and dry.

The day begins with a visit to San Gimignano, a breathtaking medieval town also known as the “Manhattan of the Middle Ages” due to its iconic ancient towers. Have a nice walk through the historic streets, renowned for their medieval architecture and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The tour includes visits to two exceptional wineries, each immersed in the Tuscan countryside. At the first winery, we will enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch, prepared with local ingredients sourced from the surrounding land and paired with organic wines produced on the premises. We’ll taste the Vernaccia of San Gimignano, a wine prized for its crisp, elegant character, and taste the flavours of Chianti wine as well, a hallmark of the Tuscan tradition.

Next, we’ll visit a second wine estate, where you’ll explore the property and taste a variety of fine wines. We will discover the art of winemaking as passionate producers share their techniques and family histories, offering a deeper connection to Tuscany’s rich viticultural heritage.

This tour offers the perfect blend of history, culture, and gastronomy, creating an experience that captures the very essence of Tuscany.
